African agriculture fund designates $135M to expand food production The African Agriculture Fund announced Monday that it has designated $135 million for expanded food production, agricultural processing and distribution, for small holder farms especially, PANA/Afrique en ligne reports. today announced that it’ll contribute genotyping data for a large set of validated rare and common genomic variants to the 1000 Genomes Project. This powerful data consists of genotyping information from more than 2 million single nucleotide polymorphisms , and insertions/deletions , many of which were not available from any supply previously. The launch includes common and uncommon variants genotyped on the four main HapMap populations: Caucasian , Yoruba/African , Chinese , and Japanese , aswell as on the larger HapMap Stage 3 sample-set. The data will be incorporated in to the 1000 Genomes open public data repository and will be freely available.
